Job Description

Assist and execute works for planning and implementation of drilling, workover and well maintenance operations related to exploration and development programmes and ensuring optimization of operational processes whilst controlling drilling materials and supplies in compliance with set policy, procedures and standards. Conduct studies, analysis and evaluations of drilling engineering data collected at wells, and recommend methods and techniques for economical and safe operational achievement. Supports Supervisor in developing drilling engineering activity plans while preparing various regular reports, technical reports and summaries of drilling engineering operations activities

Policies, Processes and Procedures

             Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.

Day- to-day operations

             Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the Drilling Engineering Section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.

Plans & Schedule

             Contributes and supports the Drilling Engineering Section in the development of Drilling & Workover Division’s short /long term operation plans & schedules for all drilling, workover & well maintenance activities ensuring alignment with overall Divisional goals.

Drilling Operations & Engineering

             Assist supervisor on coordinating with other Divisions in the department and service contractors; plans and proposes operations related to drilling, workover and well maintenance programs in conformity with the Well Programs developed by Drilling Engineering Section within approved budgets and time frame.

             Reviews and endorses drilling, workover and maintenance operational plans for individual wells, and prepares short and medium range drilling, workover, and well maintenance schedules.

             Provide drilling expertise and assist in communicating with drilling operation team and contractors, and directs, instructs and supports drilling, workover and well maintenance operations.

             Ensures that drilling operations are performed in accordance with the set drilling programs, standards, policies & procedures.

             Provides technical support, exchange information and render engineering assistance in drilling engineering and operations.

             Provide in-depth drilling operations/ engineering knowledge to the day to day work as well as for other engineers for development and knowledge transfer in the field.

             Perform investigation/evaluation of drilling operations /engineering problem/concerns which impact the drilling operations and programs. Coordinate with sub-subsurface geoscientist when require for work improvement and resources optimizations.

             Assist in the well engineering programs or well completion operations as well as for any safety and environmental concerns in compliance with the authorized regulations and standards

             Maintains knowledge and skills of the latest technologies and methods, and recommends their application or introduction for KJO’s drilling operations/engineering.

Risk Assessments

             Conducts risk assessments for all activities before issuing Work Orders (to be approved by the next level) ensuring effective risk mitigation and completion of tasks as per KJO –Quality/HSE procedures

Material Assessment

             Assesses material requirements for well drilling, workover and maintenance activities and executes scheduling and allocation of materials & spares to ensure that operations are adequately and timely supported with required resources for timely completion of tasks.

             Monitor and Controls resource consumption during execution of drilling operations and activities.

Contracts Management

             Supports section supervisor in the contracting process to ensure timely and efficient acquiring of outsourced services to support departments drilling operational requirements through the negotiation / selection of appropriately qualified contractors at the optimum price and required quality standards.

 

 

Education

Bachelor degree in Petroleum Engineering
